Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Outstanding
Picked this up as a second TV for the game room. Very happy with the clarity, and ease of use. Installation is a breeze. It has an excellent picture at almost any angle that you are viewing from. Hard to believe how much these have come down in price.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Absolutely Painless
I purchased this on Amazon because it was a littler pricer at my local Best Buy by about $100.00 after shipping. Of course as luck would have it once I made the purchase on Amazon the price at the Best Buy dropped. I was concerned about getting such a large ticket item from Amazon becuse of the return hassle that one could encounter but to my surprise it all went off without a hitch.

TV arrived in PERFECT condition and I cannot say enough about the delivery crew (2 Guys). The company never did call me to arrange shipping, however their database said they had contacted me? Could have been an issue but just to be sure on the day of the delivery I actually called the shipper to confirm and to my surprise they said the truck was on its way. Unfortunately for me I was a good hour from my house. The driver called me on my cell and they waited at my home for me to arrive. Once there they took the unit in the house, unboxed it and completely set it up to insure I was satisfied with the entire process. I was VERY satisfied.

As far as the set goes...I was concerned about the sound capability but the built in speakers get REALLY LOUD, in fact I have not had them over a 1/4 of the capability since my initial tests. TV seems to come out of the box calibrated very well. HD at 1080i is absolutely stunning. I watched the Sunday Night Football in America game Cowboys vs. Philly and I have to say it was the BEST viewing experience I ever had. I just cannot get over how stunning the picture is on this set.

Remote comes with a Format button that makes it very easy to adjust the picture setting on the fly for whatever looks best for that channel: i.e: 4:3, Zoom, Full, HD-Full or Just. Works really well. Also the info button is very helpful in determining what a channel is being broadcast in: i.e 480i, 720p or 1080i.

Would I do it over again, YES I would, very pleased with Amazon, the shipping and setup and finally the TV. Highly recommended.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best so far, no complaints
This is my 3rd flat panel tv, and by far the best in terms of picture clarity and features.

I have no complaints. The picture is vivid, crisp, and satisfying.

There are plenty of hdmi, component, and other inputs so no worries there. And they all work, unlike my westinghouse unit. The unit was easy to assemble (4 screws to the base) the online menus are easy to use, and the price here at amazon was better than at any store. Free delivery and no sales tax were a bonus.

I don't use blueray discs so 720p is fine. The $400 premium for 1080p wasn't worth it to me.

Hint: Use a premium credit card that doubles the warranty from 1 year to 2. Panasonic warranty service is in-home or mail in, your choice.

Very pleased with this tv so far.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome TV -I've got three !!
I have two 50's and a 42. We watch mostly sports on all TVs. The picture is incredible. Why would you ever go to LCD with such a strong warranty on this plasm's screen?

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - good price, great tv
bought from amazon and tv was shipped very quickly. it was damaged during shipping and amazon replaced it right away. I was bloown away by this customer service. As far as the plasma tv, set up was a breeze. I also bought a sony audio system and connected it to the tv. The clarity of the tv is simply amazing. Having looked at other brands and many price ranges for all the tv sets I feel this tv has a excellent picture with no burn in or shadow problems like other people describe. The remote is quite easy to understand. At present I am very satisfied with this product and would discourage anybody from paying twice as much for 1080 and for the new models. Go for last years models, save your money and buy an audio system to get the home theatre feel. Thanks again amazon for good prices and great products.

Startup VoIP provider DeFi makes big claims, but delivers worldwide calling from a smartphone for $40 or $50 per month: DeFi has a very stripped down business model designed to appeal to a specific, but large class of traveler. They make software that's currently available for Nokia S60 phones (E and N series), and later this year for the iPhone, that acts as a kind of VoIP shunt for calling behavior. When you place a call, the software determines whether you're on a Wi-Fi network, and routes the call out that way; if not, it goes to cell. It also routes inbound calls, and can ring your cell phone's number if you're not on a Wi-Fi network and your inbound DeFi number gets a call.

For $40 or $50 per month (1 or 3 inbound phone numbers, respectively, in any of about 30 countries), you get 3,000 minutes (they call it "unlimited") of calling to and from 75 countries. This includes cell lines in Europe, typically a huge extra for most VoIP plans. DeFi said they signed deals directly with carriers, which they say most VoIP providers have not.

Wi-Fi access works at what they say is "1 million" hotspots, but is really Fon plus several tens of thousands of typical hotel, café, and airport venues. Wi-Fi fees are included for VoIP and data in the monthly subscription. DeFi uses Devicescape behind the scenes to handle no-entry authentication to their Wi-Fi footprint.

The integration is the key point DeFi makes about their product, and may be a stumbling block for an iPhone application. The head of DeFi told me that the company wants their service to require no behavioral changes for customers. Of course, users still have to make sure when they're in areas in which a cell call would be expensive that they don't accidentally wander away from a Wi-Fi hotspot. And Apple doesn't currently allow the kind of integration that would be required for call handling and interception, although DeFi said it's having no problems in its development work.

The proposed acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe is not a done deal. Both companies are under the scrutiny of the SEC, and it must also be approved by stockholders. While Macromedia/Adobe gives this process three to nine months, some industry analysts feel that is being overly optimistic. But assuming that all is goes as planned, Macromedia will cease to exist. Everything will be in the Adobe name and with the Adobe interface.

CHICAGO (Reuters) - U.S. President-elect Barack Obama said on Saturday that he was crafting an aggressive, two-year stimulus plan to revive the troubled economy, warning that swift action was needed to prevent a deep slump and a spiral of falling prices.
