Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Outstanding Value
This is a great value for the price. I replaced an older 42" Samsung 1080i plasma with this Panasonic unit. I was concerned because the contrast ratio listed is lower than the Samsung. However, the picture is crisp with good, dark, blacks. The on screen menus and features are much more flexible and user friendly than the old Samsung.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Picture, But Had to Have Serviced
I had the same problem as a lot of others - "No Power, 7 Blinking Red Power Light". The tv was a floor model in use for about two months. Problem occurred after 2-3 months at home. Did not buy extended warranty.

I am very satisfied with Panasonic's 1 yr. warranty so far. Everything was covered. I'm hoping this problem does not re-occur. The service guy recommended getting an extended warranty. In my opinion, if this problem re-occurs warranty or not, I expect Panasonic to fix or replace the tv.

3 boards were replaced that would have cost approx. $595.00 Service had to provide a loaner(Panasonic 42" Plasma - don't recall model #) because the 3rd board was on back order. The service company did an excellent job in responding and fixing the tv.

It sounds like this may be a problem with many of the Panasonic Plasma's.

Overall I am happy with tv. I would recommend the tv especially since Panasonic provided excellent service.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Plasma HDTV
I have two Panasonic plasma TV,s.A 37 and 42 inch. Both TV,s have outstanding pictures in HD and very good in non HD broadcast as compared to LCD,s
LCD tv,s have a problem in non HD in that the picture quality is not near as good as plasma.
When you look for TV,S in stores you will find that they all display a HD picture. That does not give you the true performance of a TV as most broadcasts are still in non HD.
My recommendation is go for a plasma rather than a LCD until such time that all broadcast are in HDTV

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Outstanding Television
HD channels and Blue-ray discs are unbelievable. Its hard to watch the other CRT televisions in the house after this. It could use more HDMI ports though, it only has two. (You might want to set-up Cable box, Blue-ray, and Computer graphics card, for example) Speaker quality is amazing, sound is great if you don't want the hassle of setting up surround sound or stereo speakers. I would highly recommend installing at eye level if possible because you neck will hurt staring above the fireplace for so long!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Reliability Issues
I have had this unit for 4 months now. All of a sudden, no picture, no sound. 7 flashes from the power indicator LED - that's it. Panasonic has scheduled a repair technician, but a month wait for the backordered part? Others have described a faulty power supply unit. I can't help but wonder if it takes a month to get the part - what arre they using to build the current TV's? I would really look around for another brand knowing what I know now. Sure the picture is nice, but NO picture? Tought to recommend based on my experience so far.
