good at surfing the web
Nice device for surfing the web when you are out and about. I had a problem with the on button not working right, went to website and downloaded latest firmware and it fixed the problem. I had done an internet search of "power button not working" and saw others had same problem and followed suggestion to "get latest firmware".
It's nice because it is small and fits in pocket easily! 1/2 the thickness of psp. And I like the zoom feature so I can really zoom on sites and drag the pen around the screen (touch screen) . I thought my psp would be great for web surfing but it sucks, this is MUCH MUCH NICER!
Picked it up for 130 dollars. Everywhere I go, I have always been able to find FREE wi-fi so really nice to go to park, or mall or anywhere and surf the web and check email.
It elimates the need for taking a laptop to coffee shop or bookstore.
You can get a 2 gig card for it for about 40 bucks if you want to have movies on it , but I use my psp for that.
At this point no skype but you can use skype like gizmo service to make internet phone calls which I haven't done yet. The 800 does skype but it cost 350 dollars.
So if you want tiny internet in pocket with nice battery life, get it! :)

device is awesome
The device itself is awesome, I grab bunch of applications from maemo and install it with no problem as far as you know how to work with Linux command line.
So far I am 100% satisfied with the device and the price I paid for this thing.
The only reason that I gave 3 stars are, there is problem with the display in this series I guess, as once i had this problem I google it and found that there were lot of peoples were facing the same thing. In my case what happened was one morning when I woke up and tried to turn the device on, I saw only bright screen, I heard the sound which tells me that machine is booting up. but can't see anything on the screen at all, just white bright screen. I was very lucky that it happened to me on my 22nd day of purchase, so I returned it.
beside that this is amazing PDA on this price, if you really wanna spend less than $200.00 for PDA thats the device to go with.

It was a peace of junk but a good concept
I couldn't get it to connect to the cisco wirless net work at work I sent it back for a refund thats the only positive thing I can say I got my refund quick thanks amazon.

Great Value but can be better
I bought this item from Amazon at a price below my expection. So, it is a happy purchase. Product came in just as I expected. I use it mainly to view webpages when I lay down on the bed. Also, I need it for a temporarily online solution to find a map or location. It is kind of slow, but has its value. I lived in NY, but hardly to find a hotspot to use it as it is just too slow. I believe N800 will solve the problem, however, it costs more than double of the money. Anyway, it give me a good alternative way to enjoy the convinient of internet. If you want the good experience, go N800. If just need a back up and you have time to wait for the downloading of the small pages, take this one.
