Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good initially until you decide on a higher end unit for surge
4 star rating mainly b/c haven't had any issues and is a good mid-level protection device for your A/V setup.

I bought this device specifically to clean up the AC power driving my audio/video setup which includes a 50" HDTV, receiver, cable box, and DVD recorder. The other obvious reason is surge protection. I don't think 1650J is sufficient but it will hold me until I make up my mind on a higher end unit. I currently have my HDTV (LCoS projection) plugged into a battery backup which is then plugged into the HTS200. The battery backup also has 800J of surge protection. It's a good start but I am looking at the MKII2600, APC A/V and the Beklin PureAV. Leaning towards the MKII2600 but the APC looks good as well. Don't think I would trust Belkin but some say not a bad product for the price. These choices are mainly for the higher surge protection. I am not expecting improvement in picture quality or sound as I didn't with the HTS200. Just a piece of mind when a brown/blackout hits and you have some surge and AC line protection. I think the biggest word of advice is: If you own a rear projection TV with LED or a bulb - plug it into a battery backup and then into your main surge protector whether it be a home theater reference setup from monster or APC or Belkin - whatever. Those bulbs can blow easily. And you don't need the expensive pure sine-wave battery backup. Just get a unit that has AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation). That is more important. Cheers...

HEMPSTEAD, New York (Reuters) - Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama face off in their final debate on Wednesday, with McCain needing a strong performance to begin to turn around a White House race that could be slipping away.

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?
