Horrible Experience
I purchased the DTV-323. Within one day the remote no longer worked. Working with customer service was a nightmare of unreturned phone calls and perpetual hold. The mfr. admitted there were problems with the remotes but were still obstinate about sending out a replacement without receiving the defective model. I finally gave up and just bought new ones. Be careful because there are no universal remote alternatives.
The picture quality for regular tv is so-so as well.

Nice TV/DVD for viewing
We bought this Mintek unit about a year ago, and while there was some initial quality control concerns - the first unit shipped without a remote or power cable, the company (eventually) rectified it.
However the unit itself is very competent. The picture is good, and who cares about the speed of changing channels (reported as a shortcoming by other reviews)? You will undoubtadly use a cable box as input, which will be the bottleneck for channel chaning speed.
I like the VGA and DVI cable inputs, both of which I have used with my laptop sucessfully. Makes a great "slideshow" panel for your digital photos. The sounds is not great, but again, we use it as a viewing device, and route the sound through a real amplifier/speaker system.
The DVD picture is great (no analog/digital translation) and its one less component to worry about and wire. The buttons and general interface make sense, which is a compliment in this world of incomprehensible UI decisions. The USB interface is too slow to be truly convenient, but again we use the laptop to show photos. Overall quite happy with this Mintek.

terrible tv picture quality compared to DVD, returned
I purchased this in the 32" DVD lcd tv/dvd combo from QVC after they raved about the unsurpassed picture quality, etc.
Well, the picture quality is good for a DVD. But hooked up to digital satellite TV receiver (dish network) the picture quality is abysmal, regardless of which picture setting/ratio you choose. My old tube TVs were lightyears better and after comparing the pictures side by side, I couldn't see the point of keeping a TV that would give me a much poorer picture quality than the old fashioned tube TV that cost hundreds less.
I can't understand what Mintek, or QVC for that matter were thinking when they put this TV out there. I really felt cheated that something i was told was superior was actually so much fuzzier and worse.
If you intend to only watch DVDs, this set is fine. The picture quality is excellent. but for TV viewing, I found it unacceptable.
The sound was okay.
The remote was poor. I found it difficult to use, and for a while there were some functions I couldn't figure out.
The cables that came with the set didn't quite match the parts description or assembly instructions either.Looks like they ran out and substituted.
The biggest issue though was the picture quality from the TV imput. Since it was already a digital signal, I can't figure out how they could mangle it so completely between digital sat receiver and the TV. That was the deal breaker, though the clunky remote was not a strong selling point either.
Fortunately the shipping to was free and the shipping back only 20$, so I wasn't out much for trying this TV. But it was a headache packing it up to ship back and taking it to the UPS delivery store, and I would far rather have been satisfied with it. Disconcerting when supposedly improved technology is worse than the old.

Nice tv, buyer beware, bad customer service
We purchased a mintek dtv 26" 16 months ago from amazon.com- tech depot/office depot was the seller. We have had a few problems with it - and eventually fixed them but it took a long time with customer service. We purchased the lcd because we liked the flat screen tv/dvd combination and because the price is very attractive. It's a decent TV picture, good movie picture. Changing channels is slow and using the built in dvd is a little challenging. After 90 days with our first tv we liked it enough to purchase a 2nd set. Our second mintek dtv 26" immediately failed and we called customer service for a replacement. After 60 days, many phone calls and emails, and having to put our credit card down as a full deposit, we did get our replacement. That tv/dvd worked for about 30 days and then it failed. It took us 1/2 year to get a new replacement, 20 calls to customer service, many emails, etc.. The 2nd replacement just arrived and it doesn't work (dvd player is broken) so now we are on our 3rd replacement in less than a year. The mintek is great if it works and it's horrible when it doesn't because the customer service department is very disorganized. If we could return both sets for something else we would do so. Pay the extra money and get something that works.

Not bad for $729 - 26" LCD TV/DVD Combo
After reading all the reviews below we decided to go ahead and purchase this TV to use out by our hot tub. The big sell was the TV/DVD Combo. When we are not using it outside, we use it in our bedroom. Yes, the channel changing is VERY SLOW, the remote seems cheap. The DVD is loud but only notice this when turning the TV on! The sound and picture are not excellent but they are pretty good. Also the cable plug on the bottom of the TV is not easily accesible.
