Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Exchanged this Plasma for another LCD
I orginally bought this TV because it was rated very highly. I had a couple of Samsung LCD's and thought I would try a plasma. When I had it delivered and tried to set it up I found that I could not increase the brightness and contrast to the level I wanted. Depending on the channel, this aspect of the picture varied between good and fair. The resolution, however, was excellent. To make a long story short, after investigation I realized that the difference in pictures between the plasmas and LCD's was significant. I had read that the LCD's were brighter but I always assumed that picture adjustment could minimize the difference. Wrong. Now beauty is in the eye of the beholder, because other people ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I love my TV
I had a tough time trying to decide between a plasma and LCD television. I took into consideration room lighting, video games, and picture quality. The final selling point for me was a side-by-side comparison between the two. The plasma television is much smoother when watching action or sports shows. The LCD would "blur" when quick motion shots were on. Getting it home (Costco) and setting it up was simple. I do wish it had one more HDMI connection, but not a deal breaker. I hooked up a TIVO box with cable card (love this setup) and a Panasonic Blu-ray disc player (DMP-BD30). I originally bought a Sony player, but tired of the slow start-up time. The Panasonic picture is clean and clear. I have no ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Breathtaking
When I fired this black beauty up I was hoping for an image half as good as the reviews. I was surprised! The picture quality is the best I've seen and the sound, even without the 5.1 surround system is quite good! The customer reviews here in Amazon were right on. I bought this set from Amazon sight unseen...didn't even look at this model at Circuit City or Best Buy. Amazon had the best price but what finally cinched the deal for me was the Consumer Reports rating: "(this model)plasma TV has the best picture quality of any flat-panel TV we've tested."). If you're in the market, this really is the set to buy.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Rated #1 and there's a good reason why!
Wow! A high quality plasma and a great price. Consumer Reports said it all best. It is everything I wanted in a plasma. The picture is amazingly clear. I've experienced no problems in one month and found it very easy to use in every way. Make sure that you buy an adequate surge protector with a cable surge protector connector as well. I've heard SO many stories about people who lost their new plasmas to power surges and storms, that I would never be without one. Don't get cheap in this area, either. Also, don't forget to sign up for the digital signal with your cable provider -- you'll never see the 1080p without it. Last point. If you are thinking of going for a digital player: stay away ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great image, great value, could use more features
I gave it a 5 star for image quality, and that's why people buy this TV. The following are some minor points that might affect your buying decisions:

* It only has two HDMI inputs: I have my cable box and DVD player plugged in and that's it. If you need to plug other sources in, such as HD-camcorder, etc, you have to use other messy inputs. It really needs a front HDMI or DVI input (see below).

* No DVI inputs: how about plugging my laptop computer in to do slide shows?

* Well, there is a VGA input, but it limits the resolution to WXGA. Why have a wonderful 1080p resolution and not take full advantage of it?

* Sound is good, but I wouldn't say it's ... Read More

LONDON (Reuters) - President-elect Barack Obama said on Saturday he was crafting a two-year plan to fight an economic crisis of "historic proportions" and Chinese leader Hu Jintao said his country was ready to play a big role in the global effort.

The W3C Web API Working Group has published the proposed recommendation of Element Traversal Specification. "This specification defines the ElementTraversal interface, which allows script navigation of the elements of a DOM tree, excluding all other nodes in the DOM, such as text nodes. It also provides an attribute to expose the number of child elements of an element. It is intended to provide a more convenient alternative to existing DOM navigation interfaces, with a low implementation footprint." More...

If you're in the market for a PlayStation 3, you aren't going to get a better deal than this: $199 for an 80GB PS3, bundled with a game such as LittleBigPlanet, The Force Unleashed or Far Cry 2. Also, a Blu-ray bundle, such as Firefly: The Complete Series, the Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy or a James Bond Six-Pack. And hell, a PS3 remote tossed in for good measure. All for $199. But there's a catch, because there's always a catch.

These deals are a part of Amazon's yearly "Customer's Vote" promotion, in which you get to vote on which PS3 bundle you'd want to buy and then, if you're lucky, get a chance to race against everybody else for a limited quantity of said bundles. Here are how they're broken down:

PS3 Blu-ray Sci-Fi Bundle - $199.00 PlayStation 3 80GB, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Firefly: The Complete Series, PlayStation 3 Blu-ray Disc remote

PS3 Blu-ray Action Bundle - $229.00 PlayStation 3 80GB, Far Cry 2, James Bond Collection 6-Pack, PlayStation 3 Blu-ray Disc remote

PS3 Blu-ray Family Bundle - $199.00 PlayStation 3 80GB, LittleBigPlanet, Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy, PlayStation 3 Blu-ray Disc remote

You've got to vote on which bundle looks the best to you, but don't play it to chance: the family bundle is currently holding a solid lead. 500 of each bundle will be available on Friday, so once you vote make sure to check your email on Thursday night to see if you're in the running for them. The winning bundle will go on sale for the listed price, with the other two going up for a bit more, but still cheap. Good luck, y'all. [Amazon]
