Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - OK to strip a few papers
It is a good shredder for a small job, but here are the cons.
1) You can get a cross-strip shredder at Walmart for less money from the same shredder company.
2) It does not do 8 pages. I found 4 pages is maximum before it starts to complain.
3) Hesitates for credit cards but does shred them.
4) I am not going to even try to shred a CD.
5)The basket is small and needs to be emptied more often.

I would try a Fellowes shredder as that is the one I had before this. It died on me as twice I shredded the charity org envelopes with pennies/car dealer ads with keys in them.

I generally open all my junk mail because rebate checks, confidential queries by insurance companies, automatic renewals where you have to opt out to stop subscriptions are sent in envelopes that look like junk mail.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not A Cross-Cut Shredder!
I missed that detail. It is fast, and inexpensive. But, wish I had understood that it isn't like my old shredder that cuts documents into little shreds. This has long strips coming out.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great since the Shredder extends to fit larger wastebaskets!
If you're looking for a home shredder that will do the job without costing you an arm and a leg, this is definetly it! If the wastebasket that comes with the shredder is "too small" for your use, simply apply "common sense" by putting the shredder over a larger wastebasket! Ignore all of these ho-hum reviews gripping about the wastebasket size by describing it as a "little shredder" that does "small jobs" which require "frequent emptying". Nonsense! The moment mine arrived, I took it out of the box, disgarded it's wastebasket and put the shredder over my larger wastebasket then began shredding! The shredder works fine! It's quiet and adequate for home use. For commercial use, go elsewhere. No problems here what-so-ever. Love it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great little shredder!
This is a great shredder! I read the previous reviews and decided this would meet my needs. It is small, but not too small for what I needed it for, just around the house. It is very quiet also. Paper shreds great and I shredded one credit card that had expired and was really impressed with how well it handled it. I haven't tried the CD shredder part yet...but will when and if the need arises. For the money, you can't beat it. You won't be disappointed...I know I wasn't!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - it is ok
the shredder is nice to have for small jobs but dont over do it because i doubt it can handle it.

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?
