Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - ee PC 901
Absolutely worthless. Totally incompatible with Windows products. Had to give it to someone and purchased an XT version locally.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great little Asus computer
Small but powerful unit. Have had it for over a month now and couldn't be more pleased with everything about it. I love the Linux OS and all the programs that are available for it including -mail. I was so frustrated with with my XP computer, it took forever to get my e-mail and search the web. My wife was so impressed with the speed, she wants one now. Asus has a good web site for any help you may need.
I have also always got the greatest service from Amazon.com and will continue to shop there.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - PC901
This is a great little PC! It does everything I want. I installed WinXP Professional and it works fine. All software should be loaded to the D drive, and when done, I still had 600-700 MB of free space on C. I recommend shutting off the automatic SW update feature, and selectively add updates as needed. The mouse pad is not good, but I have heard there is a better driver. Can anyone help me whith this?

Overall, a very good product. I recommend it.

Bob

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Really a nice little machine.
The Eee PC is almost perfect. The boot time (for the Linux model) is very fast. Wireless networks are found and listed for you soon after boot-up. The tabbed interface for Linux is simple and straightforward. Really a nice little machine. For those of you that want full fledged Linux, the standard Xandros desktop can be enabled, with a little work. Star/Open office is included and works fine with Microsoft Office documents. Firefox and Skype are included and web surfing is a joy.

The only real 'cons' I have are the sensitive keyboard and touchpad. If you have large "Fred Flintsone" fingers and hands like I do, there is a definite learning curve if you want to type on the Eee PC. After a week, I find that my fingers and hands are getting used to the smaller keyboard, and I now subconsciously know not to rest my wrists on the touchpad while typing.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Connects easily
I bought this as a computer for kitchen, nanny and house guests. It came ready out of the package, is easy to use and attractive. No complaints.

This year has seen several young companies--including Orbius--offering to harness the power of social networking for business.

The proposed acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe is not a done deal. Both companies are under the scrutiny of the SEC, and it must also be approved by stockholders. While Macromedia/Adobe gives this process three to nine months, some industry analysts feel that is being overly optimistic. But assuming that all is goes as planned, Macromedia will cease to exist. Everything will be in the Adobe name and with the Adobe interface.

Virgin America formally launches: Last week, Virgin America offered free Wi-Fi on its single Internet-equipped aircraft, My Other Ride's a Spaceship. Today, the service goes commercial ($10 for flights 3 hours or shorter; $13 for longer flights), and the rollout to other planes begins. Virgin has a special URL--http://wifitracker.virginamerica.com/--that takes you to a tracking page showing which flights in progress have Wi-Fi, but they don't yet tell you how to determine whether a given flight you'll be on will offer the service. With 24 planes and a plan to add service one per week, that shouldn't be a problem for long.

Heathrow Airport Coach Link adds Internet service: Icomera, a leading transportation Wi-Fi firm, has added free Wi-Fi to FirstGroup's RailAir coach service that connects Heathrow Airport with Reading in England. RailAir runs every 20 minutes for a 50-minute route. FirstGroup handles 3 million passengers a day across all its routes, which makes it a plum market for future expansion.

Awareness Technologies adds Wi-Fi positioning for laptop recovery: Awareness is the latest firm to partner with Skyhook Wireless to use Wi-Fi positioning to its products, in this case Laptop Cop, software designed to aid in recovery. The software starts at $50 for a 1-year license, with discounts for quantity.

Climate change is hampering the long-term recovery of rivers from the effects of acid rain, with wet weather offsetting improvements, according to a new study.
