Rating: - Great Pocket PC!!!
This pocket pc is great. It is a pretty small one and looks great. This pocket runs really fast. Mine has pretty bad wifi range, but I don't know how it would be with a brand new one. (bought mine used) I really recomend this pocket pc to everybody.
Rating: - Asus A626 3.5" PDA Love it
Preformed much better than expected. I was able to find lots of free software. Skip the windows media player and install TCPMP instead, plays well and did'nt have to convert most of video I already had.Only complaint is battery life. That would be more tolerable if I could pick up additional batteries and had a way to charge them. Might even buy one for my daughter now the price is $30.00 cheaper. Amazon overnight shipping was really overnight, I had it in less than 24 hours.
Rating: - A Very Nice PDA
I've owned a few PDA's in my life (like most of you). I was at the point where I bought into the idea that a phone with pda qualities would satisfy my need for constant information management and communication. I was wrong. I realized I just wanted my phone to make and receive calls. Enter the Asus 626. This is a sleek, user friendly device with a killer screen and WM6 standard. I don't use the PDA like I used to, but when I need it, it's there. The bluetooth connects perfectly. Wi-Fi connections are a snap, and I can surf the net in portrait or landscape at the touch of a button. The media player is pretty good, too.
Maybe in a year or two (or when the bugs are worked out on the I-Phone), I will try the smartphone that does everything again. For now, I'm happy with my Asus.
Rating: - I'm pleased!
It does everything I expected, often better than expected. It came with Mobile 6 preinstalled, but that's a mixed blessing. The only annoyance, and it's a slight annoyance, was needing Outlook 2007 for complete synch'ing. I still prefer Office 2003 to Office 2007 - and WinXP to Win Vista.
I have not been pleased with HP PDAs, as they don't last long. I'm hoping to have better luck with Asus.
The proposed acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe is not a done deal. Both companies are under the scrutiny of the SEC, and it must also be approved by stockholders.
While Macromedia/Adobe gives this process three to nine months, some industry analysts feel that is being overly optimistic.
But assuming that all is goes as planned, Macromedia will cease to exist. Everything will be in the Adobe name and with the Adobe interface.
Virgin America formally launches: Last week, Virgin America offered free Wi-Fi on its single Internet-equipped aircraft, My Other Ride's a Spaceship. Today, the service goes commercial ($10 for flights 3 hours or shorter; $13 for longer flights), and the rollout to other planes begins. Virgin has a special URL--http://wifitracker.virginamerica.com/--that takes you to a tracking page showing which flights in progress have Wi-Fi, but they don't yet tell you how to determine whether a given flight you'll be on will offer the service. With 24 planes and a plan to add service one per week, that shouldn't be a problem for long.
Heathrow Airport Coach Link adds Internet service: Icomera, a leading transportation Wi-Fi firm, has added free Wi-Fi to FirstGroup's RailAir coach service that connects Heathrow Airport with Reading in England. RailAir runs every 20 minutes for a 50-minute route. FirstGroup handles 3 million passengers a day across all its routes, which makes it a plum market for future expansion.
Awareness Technologies adds Wi-Fi positioning for laptop recovery: Awareness is the latest firm to partner with Skyhook Wireless to use Wi-Fi positioning to its products, in this case Laptop Cop, software designed to aid in recovery. The software starts at $50 for a 1-year license, with discounts for quantity.
Climate change is hampering the long-term recovery of rivers from the effects of acid rain, with wet weather offsetting improvements, according to a new study.
