Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Add on
I love this mini dock. It is the easiest thing to pack for trips and I can watch my movies on any TV as well as on the Archos 605. It comes with connections for other countries as well, so it is good for the world traveler as well.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Item!!
This is a great product. If you have a Gen 5 Archos, and do not want to buy a DVR station, this item is for you. The Mini-Dock QUICKLY charges your Archos device. A really cool feature of the mini-dock is that it allows you to connect your device to your television to view movies, or play music, etc. Great buy, get it quickly!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - great product.!!
Great for first time user if Archos 605 wifi, fast charging takes like 4hrs than plugging in usb that takes 8hrs.

nice tv plug-in cable (included) lets you watch your Archos on your tv

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fit my needs exactly
I bought this for 2 principal reasons: first, I wanted to be able to charge my unit if I was on the road and without a laptop. The mini dock accomplishes this and more; in addition to charging without a laptop, it also charges it loads quicker than it would normally, so that's a plus. Secondly, I bought it to be able to play through external speakers on a TV (mainly for audio, but video works as well). The mini dock also accomplishes this very well. I had no need to record from a TV, so I opted not to get the full DVR dock.

I am still disappointed that Archos charges extra for extra features as charging directly from the wall and displaying images on a TV (my old Archos Gmini400 did both of these right out of the box), but I guess that's the general direction that the market is headed these days. With this in mind, the $30 that this costs is a good investment if you have no need to record from a TV source.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Arfchos Mini dock
Like the size, shipping was fast, with good follow up. It did not transmit video to TV so I returned for a new one. The new one was shipped fast & easy too. It did transmit video to TV, but I had to wiggle connection each time. It seems to charge Archos well. Sorta wish I had put money towards DVR dock, but that wouldn't be as travel friendly.

Ted Shelton: "Frankly I felt that BlogOn was a waste of time and money."

I think the BlogOn conference was overproduced. In the name of professionalism the organizing firm turned off potential speakers, oversubscribed sponsors, etc.

I would have liked a debatable topic (aside from *blogging = journalism*. Two people slugging it out. Or a devil's advocate taking challenges from the floor.

I would have liked more hard numbers. Facts. Charts. Diagrams. We have the analytic tools to BS-check them; harder on vague opinions and single-points-of-observation.

I found it disturbing how much money was being commanded (from both attendees and sponsors) for a conference at a university. Maybe it was because it was at Berkeley? Maybe we should have taken over a community college or a Cal State or a DeVry. The facilities costs would have been cheaper at least. I heard an organizer apologize and say the next one would be at a hotel, like that would have been better.

Cost wasn't the whole problem. We're at a stage where early adopters are meeting folks who want to leap the chasm. Huge gaps in knowledge, experience, context, culture, vocabulary. It's the gap.

There are huge ideas to be explored, even in the world of applying blogs to media strategy and the enterprise. And most of the big ideas weren't even on the agenda at BlogOn. Probably because it was catering to those who want to commercialize, fund, and otherwise exploit (excuse me, "get in on") the emerging medium.

Let's fork these conferences so advanced topics on business and technology and culture fit the participants.

DETROIT/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A top lawmaker predicted Washington would approve a bailout for U.S. automakers after they submitted survival plans, and General Motors Corp and Chrysler LLC said they needed an immediate infusion of cash to avoid failures.

It wasn't a Merry Christmas A few years ago while visiting friends in Germany, we made a trek to Verdun, France. As an American, I had no clue as to what was there other than it was an old city dating to the (Pre)- Roman era.
I was shocked and humbled to what I saw. The greatest battle (possibly in the history of modern warfare) was at the very place I was walking.
At the Douaumont Ossuaire, we video taped our tramping about. Below the bldg, there are windows that peer into...what to call it? A giant room filled to the top with bones and skulls. I taped for a few minutes and then felt an overwhelming sense of sadness. I was looking at 130,000+ forgotten warriors. I shut of the camera and destoyed the tape. This month, please take a moment to remember the fallen. My respect to those who died. As an American. Previosly.
