Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - utterly outstanding
This was a gift for my wife, that couldn't wait till Christmas. She's used my ipod and the kids as well, but when I asked if she wanted one it was always "I'd never use it! don't waste the money on me (etc, etc, ad nausium).

Once she had it in her hand, we hear a single repeat of the standard spiel. From that point forward, we have to tap her on the shoulder to get her attention when she's in the kitchen, or doing housework, or playing in her flowers, or reading a book and sometimes when we're watching a movie.

For someone who JUST didn't need or want one, this has been the greatest Gift Hit the kids and I have ever scored.

At to the ipod itself, it's simplicity to load and maintain, the battery holds a more than adequate charge and even Sylvia, the Non Computer Literate Nurse can load her selection, both automatically and manually via iTunes on her mac. This woman knows how everything inside your guts works (nurse) but she's lost with "mechanical" devices, but THIS one is intuitive and she simply loves the thing.

I should have gotten one for her when the kids and I got ours (equally utilized). I can't say how pleased I am with her reception of the little music player!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great product
I have certain essentials for the gym....good shoes, comfortable sports bra, a good water bottle, and my Shuffle! It is lightweight, holds all of my favorite work out tunes, and the battery lasts forever! The controls are easy to use, and I can clip it wherever is most convenient whether running or doing weights...awesome!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - she likes it
I bought it for my little sister whose 12. It's perfect for her cuz its small and simple. I have one too and I really like them.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Terrible product life
I bought my first in September of 2007. It lasted six months before it died. I sent it in, it was repaired. In the meantime, I received one for my birthday as requested, as a back-up. The original that was fixed conveniently died in October of 2008, after it was out of the original warranty. And just this week, five months after purchasing the second one, IT died. I now have no back-up until this one is repaired. The first one is now junk, and the second one probably won't last through the original warranty period. The original cost $79 and lasted a year. The second had been reduced in price, but it won't last a year. Therefore, $130 for 18 months. I expected more from Apple.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Loads of Music in a Little Package
I bought this iPod so I could listen to music while I work out. It's perfect for that, because it weighs nothing, clips to my T-shirt and I get to listen to what I want instead of the stuff proffered by the gym. But I have also found myself using it in other contexts. I recently travelled across the country, and the process of waiting in airports and on the plane was made much more pleasant by having my iPod Shuffle with me. These little guys are addictive!

This year has seen several young companies--including Orbius--offering to harness the power of social networking for business.

The proposed acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe is not a done deal. Both companies are under the scrutiny of the SEC, and it must also be approved by stockholders. While Macromedia/Adobe gives this process three to nine months, some industry analysts feel that is being overly optimistic. But assuming that all is goes as planned, Macromedia will cease to exist. Everything will be in the Adobe name and with the Adobe interface.

Virgin America formally launches: Last week, Virgin America offered free Wi-Fi on its single Internet-equipped aircraft, My Other Ride's a Spaceship. Today, the service goes commercial ($10 for flights 3 hours or shorter; $13 for longer flights), and the rollout to other planes begins. Virgin has a special URL--http://wifitracker.virginamerica.com/--that takes you to a tracking page showing which flights in progress have Wi-Fi, but they don't yet tell you how to determine whether a given flight you'll be on will offer the service. With 24 planes and a plan to add service one per week, that shouldn't be a problem for long.

Heathrow Airport Coach Link adds Internet service: Icomera, a leading transportation Wi-Fi firm, has added free Wi-Fi to FirstGroup's RailAir coach service that connects Heathrow Airport with Reading in England. RailAir runs every 20 minutes for a 50-minute route. FirstGroup handles 3 million passengers a day across all its routes, which makes it a plum market for future expansion.

Awareness Technologies adds Wi-Fi positioning for laptop recovery: Awareness is the latest firm to partner with Skyhook Wireless to use Wi-Fi positioning to its products, in this case Laptop Cop, software designed to aid in recovery. The software starts at $50 for a 1-year license, with discounts for quantity.
