Short lived...
The sound quality of these is okay, though not great. My major complaint is that these headphones have an astonishingly short life. One earbud or the other generally goes out. I've had to replace them every three months, even though I don't abuse them. I've finally wised up and purchased a different brand.

Perfect purchase
My earbuds' rubber was falling off on the earpieces from leaving them in the car. These new earbuds were the best price I found, still in the original packaging, perfect condition, got to me quickly - overall 5 star perfect service

Durable...
First, the good. These buds are DURABLE! At least mine were. They have been stepped on, sat on, coiled up, tangled, gone through the wash numerous times, and have even been dunked into photo chemicals and they still work. Again, I'm not sure if every one is like this, but mine is.
Now, for the bad. The sound is...adequate. Not, horrible, but far from great. Also, after you wear them for a while, say, an hour and a half, they really start to hurt your ears. Not get uncomfortable, but hurt. Badly.
So, it really comes down to should you use these when you get your new iPod or buy a better pair right off the bat? (if your question is should I buy these again after my old ones broke, the answer is no. Go buy a good pair) If you are the type of person who listens to their iPod while working out, and that only, provided your workout is under 1.5 hours, then don't go out buying $100 Bose headphones. It is a waste of money. But, if you are the type of person that listens to their iPod on the 2 hour commute to work, or while doing 3 hours of homework, you should go ahead and buy the Skullcandys, or the Kosses, or the Boses. To sum it all up, if you listen to the iPod for more than 5 or 6 hours a week then buy other headphones, if not, stick with these. However, if you are buying a replacement, DO NOT BUY THESE. They are overpriced.

LiIke being born again
I decided to use my pair of Sony MDR-V150 today instead of the stock apple earbuds and I suddenly realized how good the job of mixing the music was done by someone. I had forgotten what good headphones are supposed to sound like by using the apple headphones. The sony headphones provide so much more clarity and separation. Your ear can suddenly locate the location of all the instruments and you get the proper sound reproduction a kick sounds like a kick drum. Do yourself a favor and buy a good pair of headphones instead. If you cant tell the difference then you should probably just give and keep listening to the moldy peaches.
